As the boyfriend constantly reminds me, there’s no money to be made in bird portraiture. I like taking them anyway.
I spotted this random orchid on a windowsill during a walk through Noe Valley. The spot of color in the sea of white looked nice, so I had to snap a shot.
We stopped at a random beach around San Simeon to watch a group of kite surfers. To the right was a rocky outcropping and I thought it would be a good location to find tide pools to photograph.
As we walked, the rocks in the ditance became clearer, and they were moving. We had found an elephant seal rookery. The male elephant seals were hard to miss, but they were all separate from the group on a different part of the beach. We snapped a few photos and went on our way.
We never made it to the tide pools.
Caustic lighting reflection from a gilded sign.
Vacation is over. Headed back to SC.
I’ve never taken such a perfect shot, ever. And I probably won’t ever again.
